Vlog Post- What we do in Lolita

Elaine and I were bored the other day, so we decided to make a vlog. This one, however, is different because we actually had something to do- shocker!

So since this one was so much more fun to make than the others, please give us ideas for what to do next time! Since it's the summer and Elaine can drive, it's way easier for us to make videos, so hopefully we'll actually make some more before school starts again!

Vlog 1.5!

A while ago, my friend Elaine and I did a lolita vlog for the fun of it. But we never made a second one, so we tried to this past weekend.
We ran out of time though, so here's our lolita vlog 1.5:

SO AMAZING.
Our first vlog can be found on my YouTube account, there.

In other news, I'm going to prom this weekend! I'm so excited!

Sakura Festival

Yesterday I went to Uwajimaya's Sakura Festival. I expected it to be a big deal, like their other festivals, with booths filling the parking lot and magazines on sale (which I ALWAYS seem to miss), and food and games and things to buy.
But this year, it was so tiny! There were two food stands, one selling typical fare (drinks, sakura dogs, etc) and one selling taiyaki, which are these fish-shaped fried pastries that they sold with either red bean or vanilla filling. I had a red bean paste one, it was so good <3

I did get to see some of my friends that I hadn't seen since winter break, and that's always good.

Anyways, here's what I wore:

Everything is offbrand or handmade except for the shoes, whihc are Bodyline. The wig is from Arda Wigs.

So, speaking of the wig, that is one of the wigs I bought at Sakuracon. It's so soft, and felt almost like real hair, plus I got it at a good price, but it tangled so badly. I planned to get it to tease up like Kirsty's wig at Sakuracon, so that's what I did when I got home.

YAAAAAY.

Then I attempted to pin it up.

It looks fine here, but the pins all fell out later.

And last night I got really mad at my hair because it wouldn't stay in my wig cap/under my wig, so I just gave up.

Today I kind of want to try again, but I don't want to get frustrated by such a simple thing for a second time... I also want to put my purikura into this little purikura book that I have, but I don't want to waste them or whatever.

It's just one of those Sundays...

SAKURACON GIKIMAASSSSSSSSSSSSSS

I went to Sakuracon this past weekend! It was CRAZY FUN! I met a bunch of cool lolita bros. It's funny, this was the first con where I wore lolita more than one day. I put on my Athena costume for a few hours; to get our badges and to do a photoshoot, then I changed.

Well anyways, here are some pictures!

ROBOT UNICORN ATTACK HNGGGG

She was so pretty! Enchanted it one of my favorite movies.

I freaked when I saw them, haha XD

Haley and I. Eating, of course.

Did you know Nicole Kidman was there?

George Clooney, too.

The best Heavy is a Lolita Heavy.

Cutie Kirsty and her boyfriend! I saw her in the Dealer's Room and needed a picture, and then later I found out she was the one running a big lolita dinner I had planned to go to. After we ate dinner (which was crazy- 26 lolitas in Cheesecake Factory!) a small group of us went and did Purikura, which I stole scans of from other people.

All of us! Me, Jenny, Kirsty, Rikki, and Holly!

The first one I decorated. It shows.

Another that I decorated

YUMMY HOLLY~

Too much food!
Then later that night we sort of sat around until we got a ride back to the room.

We found Darth Vadar! Whenever I show people this picture, they're always like "oh he's short."
The next day was the fashion show! I was only able to go for two days, so this was the last day of the con.

Modeling! I wore an outfit made by Aridia of Ridi Kitty. It was so cool!

Idk what happened with this picture, but I like it.
Then I went and did more Purikura lol.

Holly, Danny, Ashlee, Allyson, Jenna, and me. THE DREAM TEAM.

SCARY

DAWWW~
So then we had to leave after I did some more Purikura with Rachel and Haley. Haley has them right now; she needs to scan them into her computer before she cuts them. Then I'll post them here :3 Right as we were leaving, though, I saw these guys:

OH MY GODDDDDD~ I love SZS, and the only cosplayers I saw from it were old white guys, so I was so excited when I saw these two!

I loved Sakuracon, and I want to go so badly again next year! I'll probably make another post this weekend about the stuff I bought. I got Rilakkuma stuff, jewelery, and AMAZING wigs!

So I'll just leave you with this:

Conair Hair Curler Review

I love beautiful, thick, shiny ringlets. Unfortunately, my hair is one of those types of hair that just won't curl, even if I spray it with an entire bottle of hair spray. Halfway through a meetup I'd check my hair and it'd be faintly curled, even though it was in ringlets when I left the house.

A while ago I got to use a friend's hair curler for a school play, and it curled wonderfully! And not long after, I saw in an Ulta catalog the same curler- the Conair Instant Heat Spiral Styler, a hair curler with ridges along it to keep your hair from bunching up.
As a bonus, the curler was only about $12- super cheap! I mentioned it to my mom, and she picked up a curler for me on one of her frequent trips to Ulta.

I love it! It's probably one of the best curlers I've ever used. So I decided to do a little review of it for fun.

This is my hair without any styling. A little bit wavy, but mostly straight.

And here we have our weapon!
The curler heats pretty fast. The website claims it heats in 60 seconds, but I don't know if it's actually that fast.

In action! Actually curling my hair is SUPER FAST. I clamp my hair, curl it around the barrel, and after only about a second I can pull my hair out and get...

This! It doesn't look amazing yet, but the curls look great after they can settle for a second.

And a full pigtail! But after some styling we get...

DRILL CURLS~
I don't know if these can technically be considered drill curls, but that's what I call them haha!

A closeup.

All in all, these curls last all day! With some touch-ups, you can even keep the curls in for a few days.
My curler was from Ulta, but I'm not sure how well known they are outside of Oregon, or even just to Portland area. So here's Conair's page for the curler. In the most recent Ulta catalog I saw a similar curler by a different brand that was only $10. I'm tempted to buy this one and try it out, too, especially if I can get curls like that in different sizes.

I would definitely suggest this curler to any girl, especially one with thick, hard to curl hair like me.

Welcome

Welcome to Cotton Candy Days! We're still under construction. Thank you!
